The End of Market Day

Please keep your eyes and ears open for ways that you can continue to support music at LES. The LeRoy Music Boosters are actively searching for ways to replace the funds that Market Day generated without having to sell fundraising items that are unnecessary. We are hoping to continue the tradition of selling Thanksgiving pies through the same supplier that provided the pies to Market Day. Music Boosters also plans to restart and take over the SCRIP gift card program which has been inactive for several years.
In the short term, this means that we are in search of new ways to support the large projects that happen in our music room, such as the guitar program, the addition of technology, and the many ongoing expenses of maintaining our equipment.
We received news over the summer that Market Day was being dissolved effective immediately. Although a last-minute buyer came in and bought "part" of the company, they have chosen to eliminate the convenient grocery delivery service that Market Day provided. As you are aware, Market Day funds helped to provide our classroom with new instruments, technology, and other supplies, without asking families to purchase anything that they would not normally need. These funds helped to provide a 21st century music education for our students. In the 2014-2015 school year, Market Day sales provided over $2,000 for our classroom.
What does this mean for LES Music?
Thank you for your continued support!
Mr. Scott
