Summer Theatre Camp

Program Introduction
It’s Theatre Camp time! We are so excited to offer this opportunity again this summer! We will be hosting our third LeRoy Summer Theatre camp this July. We are inviting incoming fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students to participate in this three-week camp.

Our camp will begin on Monday, July 9th, and run from 9am-4pm each weekday for three weeks. The final day of camp will be Friday, July 27th,, with the final performance on Saturday, July 28th. Conflicts with camp days (sports camps, baseball games, long weekend trip, etc.) can usually be worked around when notified in advance.

This camp is designed for students with varying levels of theater experience, from true beginners, to those experienced with school and community theater. Students will be expected to have a strong work ethic, and be able to work independently at times while preparing for our production.

Show Announcement & Auditions
The show title will be announced on the first morning of camp! Show selection cannot take place until we have an idea of how many actors we will have. On the first morning of camp, we will announce the show, read through the story, listen to the music, and prepare for auditions. In the afternoon, we will audition for the show! Roles of all sizes are available. Students may be asked to read lines, sing, and learn basic choreography as part of the audition process. Audition results will be posted online the first evening of camp.

Tickets & Performances
We will give two evening performances on Friday, July 27th, and Saturday, July 28th. It is essential that all participating students are available for both performances in order to have a role with lines or significant stage time. Tickets will be sold at the door prior each performance for $5.00.

Registration
Interested incoming fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students should register as soon as possible to reserve a spot at this year’s camp. We anticipate many signups, and we may have to cap registrations to keep the number of students manageable.
