About Mr. Scott

Mr. Scott is in his sixth year of teaching for LeRoy CUSD #2. Mr. Scott graduated from Carthage College (Kenosha, WI) in 2012 with a degree in Music Education. He participated in a variety of activities during his time at Carthage, such as Carthage Choir, Lincoln Chamber Singers, Student Government, Delta Upsion, Interfraternity Council, and Omicron Delta Kappa. He also worked as an Admission Ambassador and a Resident Assistant. While singing with Carthage, Mr. Scott had the opportunity to sing in Germany, Austria, Hungary, The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ireland, Scotland, as well as New York City's Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.

In August of 2017, Mr. Scott completed his Masters degree in Music Education at

Illinois State University with an

Mr. Scott studied Chinese in college and has traveled to China three times. The first two trips were intensive language studies at the Beijing Language and Culture University (北京语言大学) and through the US State Department's Critical Language Scholarship. Mr. Scott's third trip was a heritage trip where he joined his family in showing his adopted sister the country in which she was born. If Mr. Scott ever wins the lottery, you will likely

find him in China on every summer break!

emphasis on Elementary General Music. As part of his degree, Mr. Scott has earned his Level 1 Orff-Schulwerk Certification and Level 1 World Music Drumming Certification. These educational styles have greatly influenced his teaching style and the hands-on activities that students participate in as part of their musical life at LES!Mr. Scott is very passionate about music education. His goal is to provide all students at LES with broad opportunities to make and explore music so that they are inspired to become lifelong musicians.
